Plymouth CAB Trustee Board Recruitment

Plymouth Citizens Advice Bureau is currently recruiting a Chair of Trustees and a Treasurer for its trustee board.

Plymouth Citizens Advice Bureau is a charity created to serve the local community, providing advice and information on a wide range of social welfare issues. It works closely with other local advice providers to assist nearly 10,000 clients a year and has an annual turnover of approximately £1,000,000.

Following a period of highly successful development, the Trustee Board is now looking to recruit to the following key roles:

Chair of Trustees
We are seeking someone who can provide effective leadership for the next phase of development and chair our bi-monthly Board meetings. Responsibilities include working closely with the Chief Officer and ensuring that the Board provides long-term strategic management of the organisation. Experience of the role of trustee and understanding of Citizens Advice role in the community will be an advantage but is not essential.

Treasurer
We are seeking someone who, with the support of the Finance Manager, will provide financial oversight of this large bureau. We require a Treasurer who can demonstrate commitment and integrity in advising the Board on the financial health of the organisation. Responsibilities include presentation of the prepared management accounts at Board meetings, and advising on the corrective action that may be required when difficulties arise. The post does not require involvement in book keeping.

Both these positions are voluntary. Board meetings are bi-monthly and held in the evening.
